Long Beach Hoops After Dark was started to help the underserved communities of Long Beach California.  Leonard Adams is the founder and community leader that started the program.  His outreach and representation in the community has helped grow this program into a meaningful impact for young people of Long Beach.

Long Beach intercity gang violence was taking far too many lives and something had to be done.  Hoops After Dark is that channel for young people to get away from joining a gang, using basketball as an alternative way out of the cycle of street violence.  Our story will not end until every child has a chance to be part of the broader community. Using basketball as that channel.
